I've played acoustic folk guitar for 50 years for my own pleasure, performance, and accompaniment for teaching music. I have taught beginning guitar for 30 years and specialize in beginning students. My background in early childhood music learning and development, has given me insight as to how beginners learn music. This helps me approach instruction from a hands on, practical view that many beginners need. I teach children - adults and have had great success. I also supplement the method books with music chosen by the student as well as introducing new and old repertoire to the students. Lessons include note reading and chord reading, music theory, finger picking, strum studies and using a guitar pick. I do not use guitar tabulature. I can purchase the method books for you. You can supplement with your favorite music as well.
